2013 Construction Routes on Lionshead Avenue

Starting in May, 2013 and ending in 2016, a water desalination plant is being built in Carlsbad. A pipeline is being built from the plant to a facility in San Marcos. The route takes the pipeline right down Lionshead Avenue in front of the museum starting in November, 2013. This page will reprint the update maps sent out by the contractor regarding traffic routing during that time.

May 9th, 2014

Traffic reopened today in both directions on Lionshead between Eagle Drive and Business Park drive. It is still not possible to enter Lionshead from Melrose Drive. Lionshead remains one way westbound between Eagle Drive and Lionshead. If approaching the museum on Palomar Airport Road from the coast, continue past Melrose Drive to the next light and turn right onto Eagle Drive. At the bottom of the hill turn left onto Lionshead and then in about 100 feet turn left into the museum driveway.

Visiting Sherline Products

To get to Sherline Products from the museum, turn left out of the parking lot onto Lionshead Ave. Continue straight at the traffic light at Business Park Drive. At this point Lionshead changes names to Poinsettia. Turn right at the second street which is Executive Ridge. Sherline is at the end of the cul-de-sac at 3235 Executive Ridge. Drive around to the "back" side of the building for the main entrance. Starting in May or June, repaving of Poinsettia Avenue between Linda Vista and Business Park Drive to fix damage cause by the pipeline will cause traffic delays getting to Sherline. We apologize again for the inconvenience.
